CCA Meetings

CCA Forum meetings are held quarterly at different places around the country. Check here for information about coming meetings (we plan a year ahead) and examine the minutes from previous ones.

The typical format for CCA Forum meetings 1.5 days with a combination of presentations to the full group and break-out sessions to allow smaller groups to focus on particular issues ("birds of a feather" sessions). Newcomers to CCA forum meetings are encouraged to give a short talk introducing themselves and their interest in the CCA.

Forum meetings also provide a focus for auxiliary events. Working Groups will have special half-day or full-day meetings either before or after a Forum meeting. Occasionally we have tutorials in conjunction with Forum meetings. Dates listed are for the main Forum meeting only. Side meetings are listed separately.

Remote access to meetings is normally provided for those unable to travel, however newcomers are cautioned that you are likely to have a much better experience overall if you can attend your first couple of Forum meetings in person.

There is a block of rooms at $226/night (GSA rate) under the name "CCA Forum Meeting". The block expires 16 April 2010 and CANNOT BE EXTENDED.

Airport(s): In order of distance/convenience: National (DCA), Dulles (IAD), or Baltimore (BWI). DCA is on the Metro.

Local Transportation: The Legacy site has directions and estimates of taxi fares.

The hotel is two blocks from the Twinbrook Metro stop (Red Line). Look for the Rockville Hilton hotel when you exit the station. (You cannot see the Legacy directly from the Metro station.) You will need to go around the Hilton and across Rockville Pike to get to the Legacy.

There are reasonable restaurant selections within walking distance, so it really isn't necessary to rent a car.

Registration is required for all meeting participants by 19 April 2010. The registration fee is $250 for professionals, free for students. Please complete the online registration form.
