Argonne CCA Meeting Fall 2006
print PDF
CCA 2006 Fall Meeting, Argonne National Lab, Argonne, IL, Oct 5-6, 2006

Please feel free to edit your agenda items. If you want to add an agenda item, go ahead but please let Rob Armstrong know. If it seems that your item has disappeared (and we didn't discuss it) look harder, it may have been rearranged into a different slot. If it still doesn't seem to be there, someone (probably Rob) deleted it by mistake. Let Rob know.

Newcomers to the CCA Forum are strongly encouraged to present a short introduction to their research and interests as they relate to the CCA.

Rob Armstrong: Poobah for Life? (Reprise)
Rob Armstrong

This is the second part of the experiment to impose democracy on the erstwhile CCA junta. As for the first phase, the votes are in and the duties of the CCA Chair are now defined (by a vote on the Quorum voting machine). Now there is the chance for the candidates to make a case for their occupying this prestigious resume' builder.

TASCS News
David Bernholdt, Lois McInnes, Gary Kumfert, Rob Armstrong

A brief summary of what's been going on (technically) in TASCS since the July meeting.

CCA Forum Server Migration
David Bernholdt (ORNL)

New hardware is on order to replace the current system(s) running cca-forum.org, which is showing signs of old age. The new systems will be located at ORNL. I'll discuss the planned migration path and (rough) timeline. David will also discourse on the means and contrivances by which the current wiki content will be moved to Plone (I love wikis - RA).

Managing Software in the CCA Toolkit
Boyana Norris, Wael Elwasif, Ben Allan

Deals with specifics of developing, building, integrating, and deploying toolkit software based on the CCA Base Install (nee Tutorial Source) as it is today. Tentative requirements discussion to follow we hope.

MOAS: Mother Of All Sumos
Rob Armstrong (SNL)

By checking out and configuring all constituent packages clean from their repositories, MOAS (pronounced mo-az) is an automatic CCA Sumo creator. Among other things this could form the basis of a nightly build and test apparatus. This work should be directly applicable to a similar facility for the CCA Toolkit.

Events specification proposal update
Steve Parker (UU)

Responses to feedback.

CCA and GNEP
Wael Elwasif (ORNL)

Summary of recent work with Valmor de Almeida (ORNL) to CCAize a prototype integrated reactor simulation, of the sort that the GNEP program will need.

A short (hopefully) convocation to review Gary's first cut at the slides MICS has requested.
