CCTTSS: The Center for Component Technology for Terascale Simulation Software
The CCTTSS was the precursor to the current TASCS center. It was supported by the Scientific Discovery through Advanced Computing (SciDAC) program of the US Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science from 2001 through 2006. The CCTTSS did not have an independent web site, but used the CCA Forum's web site.
The CCA Forum is the community organization for developers and users of the Common Component Architecture. It began in 1998 by a group of researchers who recognized the need to bring component-based software engineering to high-performance scientific computing. Though it has historically been closely associated with the CCTTSS and TASCS projects, the Forum is open to all interested parties and participation is much broader than the large DOE projects. The Forum serves as the standards body for the Common Component Architecture, and as a user group.

CompFrame
CompFrame is a an informal group promoting the creation of an international community of developers and users of compnent and framework technology for high-performance computing. The primary venue has been a series of workshops, known as CompFrame, HPC-GECO/CompFrame, and Component-Based High-Performance Computing (CBHPC) as they have evolved. A number of TASCS members have been active in organizing these workshops over the years.
