DistComp: Distributed CCA Components and Grid Services for Scientific Computing

Collaboration Summary: By integrating expertise in high-performance scientific simulation, distributed computing, and language design, Tech-X Corporation is expanding the applicability of CCA tools and its Component-Based Software Engineering methodology for HPC from multiple angles. We are applying CCA technologies in several simulation applications, most notably, the fusion simulation efforts. We are also enhancing the capability of CCA tool suite, such as struct support and advanced distributed mechanism, based on the needs arisen from applications. These efforts will greatly expand the applicable domains of CCA tools.
Collaboration Notes: We have recently added the Fortran 2003 struct support and a CORBA-based BabelRMI library in Babel and are currently hardening the implementations.
