CCA Forum New Account Request
As of January 2008, the CCA Forum has begun migrating user
accounts to a new servers hosted at ORNL. Even if you already have an
account on the old cca-forum.org server (hosted at LBNL), you
must register for a new account in order to access the new
servers!
Follow the procedure below to obtain access to the CCA Forum's
collaboration resources and services:
- If you don't already have one, create an XCAMS account (opens
new window).
- Request membership in CCA Forum resource
groups (opens new window). Important note: after
submitting the request, you will be prompted to login with your XCAMS
identity to authenticate the request. If you do not do this,
your request is incomplete and cannot be processed!
- You will be notified by email when your request is ready. (Please
be patient. It may be a week or two if we're processing a large number
of requests and need to migrate user files from the old server. If
your request is urgent, contact us (email below) after completing the
request.)
Terminology: XCAMS is the name of the lab-wide external
account management service, which is used by many projects at ORNL.
It provides an identity which is accepted by the new CCA Forum
services and resources, including
{cvs,eprints,login,svn,www}.cca-forum.org, tascs-scidac.org, and
compframe.org. "XCAMS" does not identify any CCA Forum computing
resource or service.
Special notes:
- If you already have an XCAMS account for another project (for
example, as a user of the Spallation Neutron Source), you can use the
same identity for your CCA Forum access.
- If you already have an internal ORNL UCAMS identity (also known as
a "3-character ID" or "UID"), you can use it instead of maintaining a
separate XCAMS identity after you activate it for external use. [This applies to
only a few CCA Forum users.]
- Accounts for the National Center for Computational Sciences (NCCS) are maintained separately and
cannot be linked to XCAMS.
